Rod has been employed as an automotive and diesel machinist since 1970. In 1989 he began pouring babbitt for his own antique engines, and now provides full-time antique engine services to a customer base which spans 43 states and 3 Canadian Provinces. He has also received inquiries from England, Japan and New Zealand. Rod offers complete antique engine machining, and uses only tin-base babbitt. Equipment in use at Gaffrey Babbitting includes:
